SEPTIMUS Privacy

This notice covers the current SEPTIMUS web application and the planned iPhone application. It explains what the instrument accesses, when access occurs, where data goes, and how you remain in control.

Permissions matrix

Camera and biometric information

SEPTIMUS uses locally loaded MediaPipe vision models to convert camera frames into temporary landmarks used by the instrument. SEPTIMUS does not create an identity profile, perform face recognition, identify a person, or use camera input for advertising. The current source does not transmit raw frames or landmarks to a SEPTIMUS server. Camera-effect processing is also local. Visual effects are not guaranteed anonymity tools.

Information stored on your device

The current web app uses browser local storage for presets, arrangement, language, theme, gesture mode, left-hand octave mode, playing layout, hand-volume limit, travel paths, replay preference, and related sound/display settings. Current take and loop working data is handled in the session until you export or leave. SEPTIMUS does not use IndexedDB or register a service worker in the current source. Clear the site’s stored data in your browser to reset these items.

External services

Ordinary page requests go through Cloudflare hosting, which may process technical request information such as IP address, browser data, timing, and security logs under its own terms. When you use song features, SEPTIMUS may contact the chord-charts-song-backend, Ultimate Guitar, Songsterr, E-Chords, LRCLIB, and Hugging Face dataset services to find public chord, title, lyric, or tempo information. Search text, selected public chart URLs, title, artist, album, duration, or track identifiers may be included as needed for the request. Coverage and recording versions can differ.

Locally bundled MediaPipe, Anime.js, Motion, score, PDF, MIDI, and audio libraries support instrument functions. Current source inspection found no SEPTIMUS advertising SDK, analytics SDK, account system, social tracking pixel, or sale of personal information.

Cookies and Squarespace

The SEPTIMUS application source does not set its own cookies. It uses local storage as described above. This policy and landing page are hosted within Hanmin Yun’s Squarespace website, which uses essential site cookies and provides the visible Cookie Preferences control. Squarespace analytics or optional cookies operate according to the visitor’s site-level consent choices. Because app storage and the existing Squarespace consent system can be described accurately here, a separate SEPTIMUS Cookie Notice is not currently necessary.

The embedded live preview is click-to-load. Before that click, the iframe is not created and no request is made to the deployed SEPTIMUS app. After loading, the preview makes the same application and hosting requests described here. The iframe is permitted camera and autoplay, but not microphone; the deployed app’s current security policy keeps camera performance in the full top-level studio.

Other permissions and data

The current web app does not use accounts, contacts, precise location, push notifications, advertising identifiers, cross-app tracking, or photo-library access. The planned first iPhone version does not require those permissions. If a later feature changes this scope, SEPTIMUS will update this notice before asking for access.

Retention, sharing, and control

Preferences remain in local browser storage until you clear site data. Files remain wherever you save them. SEPTIMUS does not operate a user-content server for current recordings or presets. Public data services and hosting providers retain request information according to their own policies. You may deny or revoke camera permission without losing keyboard, mouse, touch, or pointer play. You can also avoid song search and use the core instrument without sending song queries.

Children, changes, and contact

SEPTIMUS is a creative instrument and is not designed to collect personal information from children. Material changes will be posted at this stable URL with a revised date. Privacy and App Store inquiries: snap.memoryun@gmail.com.
