Make the first note easy.

1. Enable sound

Press the on-screen sound button or the S shortcut. Browsers require a user action before audio starts.

2. Choose control

Play immediately with mouse or keyboard. Number keys 1–7 play inner chords; Shift + 1–7 plays outer chords.

3. Enable camera

Press Enable Camera, allow access for septimus.hanminyun.com, then keep both hands inside the playing frame.

4. Calibrate your space

Use the framing controls and vertical crop. Keep the right index finger visible and move through the travel corridors between chords.

Camera unavailable

• Open the full app in its own tab; the embedded preview’s camera is restricted.
• Confirm camera permission in the browser’s site settings.
• Close other apps using the camera, then reload SEPTIMUS.
• Select the correct camera from the device menu.

Hands are not tracked reliably

• Use soft, even front lighting and a plain background.
• Keep wrists and fingertips visible; avoid cropping the index tip.
• Reduce backlight and fast motion.
• Reset the frame, then adjust vertical crop.

No sound or delayed sound

• Enable sound with the button before playing.
• Check the system output device and volume.
• Use speakers or wired headphones to reduce delay.
• Reload after changing audio devices.

Recording and export

• Finish the take before exporting.
• Allow downloads when the browser asks.
• Check the Downloads folder or chosen save location.
• Keep original project data until the exported file opens correctly.

Song search or lyrics missing

• Try a simpler song title plus artist.
• Choose another public chart version.
• Public chart, lyric, and tempo coverage can differ.
• Imported arrangements may not match a specific recording.

Performance is slow

• Close heavy browser tabs and background video apps.
• Use a smaller camera frame or simpler visual effect.
• Disable full-screen blur if tracking slows.
• Keep the Mac connected to power for long sessions.
