Privacy policy

This notice covers UNIGRID at unigrid.hanminyun.com and its information pages on hanminyun.com. The game and the Squarespace website use different services and storage. It does not describe unrelated products on this website.

Who is responsible

Hanmin Yun operates UNIGRID from Ontario, Canada. Contact snap.memoryun@gmail.com about privacy, access, correction, deletion or a complaint. Please do not send passwords or recovery codes.

What the game uses

• Local play: station names, layouts, crew, resources, progress and preferences are stored in your browser. An exported save is a file on your device. These local saves are not uploaded merely because you play.
• Optional accounts: we store your chosen player ID, an internal account identifier, creation time, salted password hash and a hash of your recovery code. Registration does not request an email address, legal name or payment details. Choose a player ID and station names that do not reveal private information.
• Online saves: when you use cloud saving, station snapshots, names, save versions and timestamps are stored with your account so you can resume on another device.
• Authentication and security: a session cookie keeps you signed in. The service processes your IP address to limit abusive requests and stores hashed rate-limit keys with counters and expiry times. Hosting providers also process technical connection information needed to deliver and protect the service.
• Support: if you email us, we receive your address, message and anything you choose to attach.

Why we use it

We use this information to operate the game, authenticate players, save and retrieve stations, prevent abuse and respond to requests. The game does not currently include advertising trackers or a separate gameplay-analytics SDK. The Squarespace website can process website analytics and cookie preferences separately, as explained in the cookie notice.

Service providers and location

Cloudflare delivers the game and hosts its account/save service. Squarespace hosts the website pages. Email providers handle messages you send to the support address. These providers may process information outside Canada, where local laws and lawful access requirements can differ. We do not sell player information or use game account information for targeted advertising. Information may be disclosed when legally required or reasonably necessary to protect the service or people, subject to applicable law.

Storage and retention

Local saves and language preferences remain until you remove them, your browser clears them or storage is otherwise lost. Signed-in sessions expire after up to 30 days; logging out removes the current session. Security rate-limit windows range from one minute to one hour; expired database entries are cleaned during later successful authentication. Account records and cloud stations do not currently have an automatic inactivity-deletion schedule. They remain until removed following a verified request or when no longer needed, subject to legal and security retention requirements. Provider logs and backups follow the relevant provider's retention practices; deletion from backups may not be immediate.

Optional accounts and your consent

You can use local play without an online account. Creating an account involves the account and security processing described above; cloud storage is used when you choose to save to your account. Optional website analytics are separate from essential game functions. We do not treat reading this notice as consent to an unrelated use of your information.

You can stop using cloud features and contact us to withdraw consent to optional processing. If information is necessary to operate your account, withdrawal may mean we cannot continue that account or cloud-saving service. You can still play locally. Sign-out stops the current session but does not itself delete account records. Export important saves before requesting deletion. Legal obligations and legitimate security requirements may limit immediate deletion; we will explain any applicable exception.

Your choices and requests

You can play locally without an account, sign out, export saves and manage browser storage. Clearing local storage does not delete cloud records. Contact us to request access, correction, deletion or withdrawal of consent where applicable. We may need to verify that you control the account without asking for your password or recovery code. The current game has no self-service account-deletion button. We will explain applicable limits and respond within the period required by law. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the appropriate privacy regulator.

Children and security

UNIGRID is not directed to children under 13. Do not create an account or send personal information if you are under 13. A parent or guardian can contact us about information submitted by a child. Password hashing, protected sessions and HTTPS reduce risk, but no online system is completely secure. Keep credentials and recovery codes private.

Updates

We will update this page when practices change and revise the effective date. A new use that requires consent will require that consent; publication of a revised notice alone is not a substitute.
