Terms of Service
The conditions for using Enkidu and its product website.
Enkidu helps you understand Codex usage and plan your work. It cannot increase your allowance, guarantee savings, or ensure that a task will finish before your allowance resets. Your mandatory legal rights remain intact.
1. Who provides Enkidu
Enkidu is developed and provided by Hanmin Yun in Toronto, Ontario, Canada (“we”, “us”). These terms apply to the Enkidu app, its optional local integration, and Enkidu-related content on this website. Contact: snap.memoryun@gmail.com.
2. Using the app
Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive licence to install and use the version of Enkidu made available to you on Macs you own or are authorized to use, for personal or internal business purposes. The app and its original content remain owned by their respective rights holders. Third-party components remain subject to their own licences.
You must have legal capacity to accept these terms or use the app with a parent or guardian who accepts them. If you use Enkidu for an organization, you must have authority to do so. Do not use it unlawfully, interfere with its operation, bypass access restrictions, distribute malicious copies, or misrepresent the app as your own. Nothing here restricts rights expressly permitted by applicable law or a third-party licence.
3. Requirements and third-party services
Enkidu is intended for people who use Codex and requires a compatible Mac and an eligible ChatGPT/Codex account. Connection requirements depend on the edition. The direct-download edition uses a supported local Codex installation and its existing sign-in. The Mac App Store edition uses a bundled OpenAI connection component and requires a separate official sign-in inside Enkidu, even if Codex is already signed in. Internet access is needed for fresh service readings. Availability depends on your account, workspace, region, software version, and OpenAI's services. Any required third-party subscriptions or service charges remain your responsibility. Enkidu does not provide a ChatGPT subscription, API credits, or additional usage allowance.
OpenAI, Apple, Squarespace, and other linked services operate under their own terms. Enkidu is an independent product and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by OpenAI or Apple. Apple notarization does not mean Mac App Store approval or a guarantee of performance.
4. Readings and guidance
Usage readings reflect information returned by Codex at the displayed sync time. They may be rounded, delayed, stale, or unavailable. “Verified” means a successful, validated service reading; it is not an independent audit of OpenAI’s billing or quota system. Use Sync Usage and check Codex directly before relying on a reading for important work.
Pace projections, model guidance, planning scores, and budgets are decision aids. They do not promise exact cost, time, token savings, future availability, or completed work. Other activity on your account may affect readings. You choose and remain responsible for your model, work, spending, backups, and final decisions. Enkidu does not automatically change models.
5. Privacy and optional features
See the Privacy Policy for local storage, optional integration, and website processing. Optional permissions and integrations remain under your control. Do not send passwords, authentication tokens, or confidential project material when requesting support.
6. Beta software, updates, and availability
Build 41 is available as a direct-download macOS beta. A separately sandboxed Mac App Store edition is being prepared; preparation or submission does not mean Apple has approved or released it. Features and connection behaviour can differ between editions and may change or stop working as macOS or Codex evolves. We may update or discontinue the app or its availability, subject to applicable law. No uninterrupted service, specific update schedule, compatibility period, or support response time is promised. Keep backups and test suitability before depending on the app for critical work.
7. Warranties and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Enkidu and this website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without additional warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or error-free operation.
To the extent permitted by law, Hanmin Yun is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, including lost profits, missed opportunities, interrupted work, lost data, or service charges arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on Enkidu or its guidance.
These provisions do not exclude or limit any liability or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including mandatory consumer protections. They do not excuse fraud, wilful misconduct, or other conduct for which exclusion is prohibited. See Legal & App Limitations for practical limitations.
8. Ending use and changes to these terms
You can stop using Enkidu at any time. Removing the app may leave local settings and saved data; see the Privacy Policy. A material breach may end the licence to use Enkidu, subject to applicable law and any required notice or opportunity to remedy it.
We will identify revisions with a new effective date and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required. Changes do not retroactively remove accrued rights. Enkidu is free to download and use, with no in-app purchases or premium feature tier. Third-party subscriptions remain separate.
9. Governing law and your rights
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and applicable federal laws of Canada, except where mandatory laws in your place of residence provide otherwise. Nothing requires you to waive a right to bring a claim, participate in a class action, or use a remedy protected by applicable law. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted.
