A few clear answers.
What does the percentage actually mean?
It is the remaining percentage of the selected general Codex allowance window reported through your local Codex connection. It is not a cash balance, API credit balance, token counter, or a promise of how many tasks you can finish. Limits and reset times can vary by account and change over time.
Is Enkidu completely free?
Yes. Enkidu is free to download and use, with no in-app purchases or premium feature tier. Any ChatGPT or other third-party subscription you need is separate and is not included with Enkidu.
Is this an official OpenAI app?
No. Enkidu is independently created by Hanmin Yun. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by OpenAI or Apple. Codex, ChatGPT, macOS, and other third-party names belong to their respective owners.
What does a “verified” reading mean?
Enkidu successfully received a supported reading from Codex and checked that its percentage and timing were valid to display. It does not mean that Enkidu independently audited OpenAI’s billing or quota systems. Saved readings can become out of date.
Can Enkidu guarantee I won’t run out?
No. Pace estimates, alerts, budgets, and model guidance help you make decisions, but task demands and third-party limits can change. Check the current reading, allow room for uncertainty, and keep your work backed up.
What should I know about the beta?
This download is the Build 48 macOS beta. The app and DMG are Developer ID signed and Apple notarized, with the approval tickets attached. Features and compatibility can change, and errors or interruptions are possible. Read the setup guide and the Legal & App Limitations page before relying on it. For support, email snap.memoryun@gmail.com.
Less guessing.
